Having just received response from the owner, I realize I never wrote an actual review— Several month ago, some friends and I were headed south for the 120th United Singing Convention in Atlanta, for the unveiling of a new edition of the Sacred Harp tunebook, first published in 1844. About an hour into driving, I realized that it would only be a short detour from our route to drop by Adams, where a friend of mine has done some work, and had recommended dropping by for lunch at either of the restaurants in town. Some of the best barbecue to be had. We were there on fish fry day, and while I have to admit I did not grow up in fish fry country, one of my companions, who is far more qualified to judge, said she’d not had such good fried fish since her family used to make it when she was young. I had brisket, which was mighty good too, but certainly some of the best fried okra and hushpuppies I’ve eaten in a while. Had some lovely conversation with some local folks, and felt well rejuvenated when we got back on the road. Well worth the stop, and while I may have to try Moss’s next time I pass through, I certainly hope to be back!
